All 150 members of the Legislative Chamber are directly elected by absolute majority vote in single-seat constituencies. Members serve 5-year terms.
In 2021, presidential incumbent Shavkat Mirziyoyev (ULDP) was reelected with 80.31% of the vote. Voter turnout was 80%.
New/Unique in this Election:
On 30 April 2023, Uzbek citizens approved an extensive set of constitutional modifications. The new constitution will extend the presidential term from five to seven years and enable current President Shavkat Mirziyoyev to run for two more terms. Also, early voting will take place from 28 June to 5 July.
