New/Unique in this Election:
The postponement of the general election was enacted in September 2022 with the passage of the Constitution (Amendment) Bill 2022. The postponement delayed the next general election from 2023 to 2024. The government's official reason was to avoid having the election conflict with the 2023 Pacific Games, which the Solomon Islands hosted.
