Description of electoral system:
- For the National Assembly, 116 members are directly elected in single-seat constituencies by simple majority vote, 15 members are directly elected in a single nationwide constituency by proportional representation vote, and 6 are directly elected in multi-seat constituencies for Ecuadorians living abroad by simple majority vote.
Last Election:
- Elections for the National Assembly were last held on 17 February 2013. In this election, the Movement for a Proud and Sovereign Fatherland (PAIS) won 100 seats, the Creating Opportunities Movement won 11, the Social Christian Party won 6– Madera de Guerrero won 6, the Patriotic Society Party (PSP) won 5, Pachakutik – Plurinational Union of the Left won 5, the Avanza Party won 5, with several smaller parties winning 1 seat each.
