General Information

At Stake in this Election:  

  • All 200 seats in the Czech Chamber of Deputies. 

 

Government Structure: 

  • Assembly: bicameral Parliament (Parlament) with an 81-seat Senate (Senat) and 200-seat Chamber of Deputies (Poslanecka Snemovna). 

 

  • The President is elected by majority vote, in up to two rounds, to a non-consecutively renewable 5-year term.  

  • The Prime Minister is appointed by the President. 

  • All 81 members of the Senate are elected through majority vote, in up to two rounds, to a 6-year term.  

  • All 200 members of the Chamber of Deputies are elected through list proportional representation using imperiali quota. All members are elected to a 4-year term. 

 

In the last election in 2021, ANO 2011 won a plurality of seats with 72. SPOLU came a close second with 71 seats. Voter turnout was 65%.
