Electoral System:
- In the Parliament (Folketinget), 175 members are elected by open list proportional representation in ten multi-member constituencies to serve four-year terms. An additional four members are selected from Faroe Islands and Geenland (two from each).
- There are two kinds of seats in Danish parliamentary elections: constituency seats (allotted to the ten constituencies above) and compensatory seats. After constituency seats are awarded, compensatory seats are distributed based on the proportion of the national vote each party receives.
