  • Assembly: Grenada has a bicameral Parliament consisting of the Senate with 13 seats and the House of Representatives with 15 seats.

Description of electoral system:

  • The Queen is the hereditary head of state.
  • The Prime Minister is elected by parliament.
  • In the Senate, 10 members are appointed by the government to serve 5-year terms and 3 members are appointed by the opposition to serve 5-year terms. In the House of Representatives 15 members are elected by simple majority vote in single-member constituencies to serve 5-year terms.
